Britain for sale – is another unwise decision to be announced?

David Cameron: committed to selling even more of the country’s infrastructure

Water and energy are largely in foreign hands and health increasingly so. Both Labour and Conservative governments have promoted privatisations and the Financial Times reports that government will soon go further and announce an auction of part of its 49% stake in the UK’s air traffic controller – raising about £250m for the Treasury.

Ironically the article states “The government is keen to retain influence over what it sees as a strategically important body.”

The best way of doing that would be to own it.
